For my Bar Mitzvah, I will be raising money for the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Athletic Center through Jewish National Fund-USA. Sha’ar Ha’Negev is located in the south of Israel, on the border of Gaza.

On October 7th, The Mayor of Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council, Ofir Libstein, was killed by Hamas terrorists in Kibbutz Kfar Aza while defending his family and neighbors. This project was extremely important to him and is continuing in his memory.

In addition, my grandfather, Marc Shulman, passed away very shortly after the October 7th attacks in Israel. He and I always shared a love of sports, helping others who need it and of course, Israel. Jewish National Fund-USA was always important to him and holds a special place within our our family. After October 7th, I found this to be a perfect way to raise money for a cause that I love that will both help with the rebuilding of the south and help honor me honor the memory of my grandfather.

Activities at the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Athletic Center will promote resiliency, special needs programs, Phys-ed classes for surrounding schools and college students, national football league games that attracts thousands of spectators, the Lacrosse league and more.
