Never done this before; hope I never have to do it again.
I spent the last week on the phone with Israel which I visit regularly; My children, have fond memories of playing in Sderot and love the playground. Sadly, our Israeli friends have been under fire and hit with rockets.
We have lost close friends, including Ofir Leibstein Mayor of Shaar HaNegev (who the New York Times actually acknowledged). We have heard from the head of the Halutza Communities, who together with a partner, neutralized 8 terrorists in a neighboring town. Unfortunately, his partner was seriously wounded.
With the help of JNF, the 350 people of Shlomit, which is part of Halutza in the Gaza Envelope, have been bused to Gush Etzion. The residents, who have little money, have embraced their brethren and are trying to buy supplies. They need bedding, food, clothing and games for children. These people have been through so much and need our support. Now! Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now!
I wanted to reach out to you to support these families. We personally know them.
David and I are donating. Our children are donating their babysitting money. Please support our friends. The dollars matter as do the number of supporters. Any amount is appreciated. We have set up the below link.
Our Israel Resilience Campaign needs are as follows:
--Evacuation from hardest hit communities on the border including transportation and emergency housing
--Provide hygiene, bedding, and care packages to those in need
--Provide firefighting and protective equipment to those on the front lines
--Offer psychological treatment
--Give the local communities the promise of rebuilding for tomorrow
Please do this now and we thank you in advance.
