The Eilat Foundation
Eilat, a city usually buzzing with the laughter of tourists, now stands as refuge for over 60,000 men, women and children who were evacuated and escaped from the horrors with only the clothes on their backs.
WITH YOUR HELP WE WILL PROVIDE THE FAMILIES WITH ESSENTIAL NECESSITIES SUCH AS HOUSING, FOOD, CLOTHING, MEDICINE, BABY NEEDS, MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND HEALTHCARE.
As Eilat opens its doors, she is in a great, unprecedented need. The city opened a 24/7 emergency center which is now orchestrating efforts to provide shelter, food, and fundamental necessities to these Israelis who escaped from the horrors. The displaced families have been temporarily housed in hotels, hostels and many have been taken into the homes of Eilat residents.
The entire city with all of its residents transferred into Israel’s largest refuge.
• 20 mental health clinics opened with dozens of therapists and social workers volunteers.
• The city hospital opened four clinics in hotels and operates mobile clinics.
• Donation centers opened in the city airport terminal, community centers, and the city museum.
• Schools and gyms converted into shelters for families.
• Hundreds of volunteers conducting relief and educational activities, and shows for children.
• Dozens of restaurants providing free meals.
• Dozens of local businesses and attractions providing free activities.
• Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvas, and Brith ceremonies are instantly organized by the residents for the displaced families.
As Eilat residents are called on to volunteer around the clock to support these families, we turn to our communities in the U.S. in this desperate hour.
