Judy Elbaum's Seasonal Delights II in support of the Shlomit Community
Judy Elbaum

On the morning of October 7th, four brave heroes of the Gaza border community of Shlomit, an affiliate of JNF-USA, were murdered by Hamas terrorists. They were helping their neighbors in the community of Pri Gan defend themselves against murderous attacks. These men left behind four widows and fifteen children. The story of their heroism and their families’ resilience can be found HERE.
Members of Shlomit established this community when they were forced to leave their homes in Gush Katif during the disengagement from Gaza in 2005. Following October 7th, they were evacuated for months. While they have finally returned home, their return is bittersweet as they deal with the loss of their beloved husbands and fathers. The bereaved families of Shlomit will not allow the terrorists to break their spirit. Their loved ones believed in the unity of Am Israel – the nation of Israel.
A fund has been established to benefit the widows and orphans of Shlomit. Funds are also being raised for the Halutza Community Center, which will serve as a hub for the entire northwestern Negev and IDF soldiers stationed nearby. The 40,000 square-foot center will provide a space where residents can hold community celebrations, social gather¬ings, concerts, and more – essential to the growth and quality of life for all those who call the region home.
In support of these fundraising efforts, one of JNF-USA’s talented and generous ambassadors, Judy Elbaum – also known as Leave It To Bubbe – is donating all proceeds from the sale of her second cookbook, Seasonal Delights Volume II, to benefit Shlomit. Judy is an acclaimed chef and cookbook author. Together with her husband Steve Elbaum, Judy is a major supporter of JNF-USA’s Galilee Culinary Institute, transforming the north of Israel into one of the world’s great culinary destinations.
Steve and Judy have generously MATCHED ALL FUNDS RAISED THROUGH THIS EFFORT UP TO FIFTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000)!
For a minimum gift of $36, you will not only be helping these families persevere in the face of enormous loss; you will also receive Judy’s second cookbook (please provide US mailing address).
