Sephardic Temple: Funding a Bomb Shelter in Israel through Jewish National Fund-USA

Sephardic Temple is proud to partner with Jewish National Fund-USA to help fund a lifesaving bomb shelter in Israel. This project will provide critical protection for children, families, and residents in vulnerable communities, helping them feel secure and enabling displaced families to return home.

For two decades, residents of the Israel Envelope (formerly known as the Gaza Envelope) have endured ongoing attacks from the Gaza Strip, including rockets, incendiary balloons, and more. When an alert sounds, residents often have just 15 seconds—or less—to reach safety. Since October 7, 2023, the need for bomb shelters has become even more urgent, not only in the Israel Envelope but across the entire country. Rocket attacks from Gaza and Lebanon have become routine, making access to nearby shelter essential for daily safety.

To rebuild lives and restore a sense of normalcy, it is critical that bomb shelters are constructed near schools, homes, and public gathering places throughout Israel's North and South. Evacuated residents cannot return home until sufficient shelters are in place, and even those who remain in their homes continue to require greater protection and reassurance.

Jewish National Fund-USA is committed to building bomb shelters in communities along the Gaza border and in northern Israel, helping families safely return to their homes and communities.

Sephardic Temple is raising $50,000 to fund a roadside bomb shelter. These shelters provide critical protection for up to 20 people in public spaces such as parks, playgrounds, bus stops, and roadsides.

Once the goal is reached, the shelter will be dedicated in honor of Sephardic Temple and beautified with a mural painted by an Israeli artist. Supporters will also have the opportunity to visit the shelter in Israel.

We invite you to join us in this meaningful effort to provide safety, security, and hope for Israeli families.

Am Yisrael Chai!
