Most parents dream of a safe, comfortable space in which to bring their new children into the world. The Oct. 7 attack by Hamas ruined that dream for the residents of Kibbutz Be’eri and thousands of Israelis.
But the Israeli spirit, along with the help and devotion of others, is indomitable. Now Be’eri is rebuilding. Along with the restoration of the Dental Clinic, residents are committed to having a spacious modern maternity wing. When my wife heard about this, she knew that our support for this Maternity Wing would be the BEST 80th birthday present I could receive. Having been an obstetrician for 50 years, dedicated to making sure women who have complications affecting their pregnancy have the best care for both them and their babies, this new Maternity Wing spoke volumes to me, my family, and the residents who will return to Be’eri. This was a perfect project for us to support.
Our JNF missions to Israel to help support the Jewish people in the Gaza envelope showed us what can be done when Jewish hearts are open, and willing to commit to helping our fellow Jews in this time of need. We have earnestly supported the JNF effort to help Be’eri. Please help us make this dream come true! Together, let us create the Maternity Wing that the members of Kibbutz Be’eri have yearned for and deserve. Together we can then say, “Am Yisrael Chai.”
