The Israeli Archery Association: A Journey of Excellence and Community Impact

In recent years, the Israeli Archery Association has experienced remarkable growth and success. Our young national teams have achieved outstanding results, showcasing the talent and dedication of our athletes. Over the last year alone, Israeli archers have won 10 medals at European Championships, secured 2 tickets to the Olympic Games, won 1 ticket to the World Games in 2025 (the first for Israel in any sport), set a European U21 record, and won a total of 60 international medals over the last Olympic cycle.

However, our story goes beyond achievements in archery. We are equally proud to lead with a deep commitment to giving back to our community. Our coaches and archers actively participate in impactful initiatives, demonstrating that excellence and compassion go hand in hand.

Over the past year, we’ve been running regular, weekly archery sessions for wounded veterans and their families in hospital rehabilitation departments, providing them with a sense of connection, support, and empowerment. Additionally, our archers volunteer their time with families who have been displaced by war, as well as in various other community outreach activities.

Facing Challenges, Moving Forward

The past year has been especially challenging for us in securing funding, as we faced increased costs due to the war. Flight companies withdrawing from Israel have led to rising travel expenses, and we've also had to cover tens of thousands of dollars in additional security costs to ensure the safety of our national team representing us abroad. Unfortunately, these increased expenses have greatly impacted our ability to support athletes from less fortunate backgrounds. As a result, some talented young archers were unable to compete in important competitions due to a lack of funding, and next year, this situation is expected to worsen.

Next year, the funding situation will be even more challenging, as the costs of the war are expected to impact funding for all sports national governing bodies (NGBs), with an anticipated cut of 35%–50%. This means that without your help, many more talented athletes will face barriers to participation.

Building a Brighter Future: New Initiatives on the Horizon

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to serving our community and have several projects planned for the next year that are reliant on funding:

Establishing an archery club for amputees, many of whom were victims of the 07/10 attack, to provide them with a supportive space to regain their confidence and strength.
Launching archery activities for people suffering from PTSD, using the sport as a therapeutic tool to aid their recovery and provide a sense of community.
Developing a Paralympic program to help war veterans and victims qualify for the LA 2028 Paralympic Games, allowing them to aim for excellence on the world stage.
How You Can Help

Your support will be the game-changer that allows Israeli archers to keep representing Israel on the world stage. Your donation will not only support our athletes in achieving success but will also help us purchase equipment and expand our community initiatives, enabling us to reach even more people through the sport of archery.

Now, more than ever, we need your support to help us overcome these financial challenges. Your donation will ensure that we can continue providing vital programs for wounded veterans, displaced families, and aspiring archers as they pursue excellence. Together, we can make a difference and continue the journey of archery, excellence, and community impact in Israel.
