Since the devastating attacks on October 7, it has become increasingly evident that many Israeli Arab communities face a critical shortage of public bomb shelters. Addressing this gap is not only a matter of fairness and public safety—it’s also a step toward strengthening trust and unity within Israel’s diverse society. Many Israeli Arabs have shown incredible courage during these challenging times and deserve equal protection.

Instead of focusing solely on what hasn’t been done, we have an opportunity to take meaningful action. Through Jewish National Fund-USA, we can help build a much-needed shelter in Rahat, Israel’s largest Bedouin city. And once we’ve accomplished that, we can explore ways to do even more.
