Making the Desert Bloom: The David I. Abramson Forest and Blueprint Negev
David was incredibly passionate about the land and people of Israel.

The forest that we will plant will add a minimum of ten thousand new trees to Israel's landscape, already adding to the over 240 million trees planted in JNF's history. The David I. Abramson Forest will serve as a lasting tribute to his life.

David was extremely connected to the the land of Israel and Ben Gurion's dream of making the Negev Desert the future for Israel.

The city of Beersheva, the capital of the Negev, has experienced a renaissance over the last 10 years. Sixty years ago, this town had a mere 2,500 residents — a number many people thought would eventually dwindle away. But today, the town is a thriving metropolitan city of almost 200,000 people. JNF is playing a major part in further strengthening this city through the creation of Be’er Sheva River Park; an extensive water, environment and economic development project that will transform the region.

The Beersheva River Park is one important part of Blueprint Negev, JNF’s major initiative to revitalize Israel’s southern region Blueprint Negev a name that describes the far-reaching and visionary plan to increase the area’s population and improve living conditions for all of its inhabitants. The blueprint includes community development, housing, employment, environmental sustainability, agricultural research and development, water treatment, restoration and cachement, tourism and recreation, education and security.

By donating in memory of David, you are ensuring that his love and commitment for Israel and its future will live on.
