In Memory of Bradley "Sonny" Sonenstein

Dear Family and Friends, In discussing ways to honor Brad/Sonny's memory, our family thought it would be a fitting tribute to start the Bradley "Sonny" Sonenstein Memorial Garden in Israel on Tu B'Shvat this year. A few of the reasons we decided on this memorial: Sonny's favorite Jewish holiday was Tu B'Shvat. Known by some as "Jewish Arbor Day" or "New Year of the Trees," it will be observed this year on January 24-25, 2016. Sonny spent several months in Israel in Summer 2014, which had a profound impact on his life. So many of us have memories of enjoying the outdoors with Sonny, whether it was whitewater rafting, hiking, hanging out on Lake Erie, etc. This memorial garden is made possible through the Jewish National Fund, whose mission is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to come home, bolstering Israel's water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism. Each tree costs $18, and we are setting a minimum goal of 25 trees ($450.00) to get this garden started. We recognize and appreciate that many have contributed to the American Society for Suicide Prevention (http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&participantID=950363), but we hope that you can help to honor Sonny in another way. Whether you show your support through making a donation, or simply sharing this page with others whose lives were enriched by knowing Sonny, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous support!
Please help me support Jewish National Fund by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will help the memory of my loved one live on and help to support the land and people of Israel. The donations and Tzedakah I raise for my loved one are so meaningful to me.
