Dr. Maynard (Gene) Fields was an optometrist born in 1925, in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in 1943. He served in the pacific theater of WWII as a navy medic. He graduated from Brooklyn College in1949. He graduated from the Chicago College of Optometry in 1951 and practiced optometry in Waukegan, Illinois. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Blanche, four children, all physicians, Constance, Kenneth, Kathy, and Daniel. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Matthew, Jamie, Nicole, Richard, Mark, Megan, Brandon, Michael and Brianna. He was a philosopher, fighter, provider, and lover of fun and adventure. He was also a lover and strong supporter of Israel. Please join his family in creating a legacy in honor of Blanche & Gene.
