In Memory of Rose Kahan

Carol Rosenthal

Our beautiful Rose...mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother...was born on August 15, 1916 and passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2018. She was born to in Newark, NJ to Nathan and Ida (Bloom) Zuckerberg, the only daughter of four children. Rose met Fred Kahan the summer of 1932 and they were married one year later. They had two daughters, Marcia and Francine, to whom Rose completely devoted herself. In 1952, the family moved to Los Angeles where Fred was to become the Executive Director of Jewish National Fund (JNF), responsible for development and public relations in the 11 western states. Rose and Fred soon became pillars of the Los Angeles community (they were know as Mr. and Mrs. JNF), meeting with the city's leaders, political figures, and celebrities in the entertainment world, at frequent soirees, meetings and fundraisers in the Kahan's different homes over the years...each home beautiful and welcoming, reflecting Rose's fabulous style. (Her delicious apple strudel no doubt drew people as well). In honor of Fred and Rose's deep commitment to Israel and their 30 years of dedicated service to Jewish National Fund, thank you for considering a gift in memory of Rose.

Please help me support Jewish National Fund by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will help the memory of my loved one live on and help to support the land and people of Israel. The donations and Tzedakah I raise for my loved one are so meaningful to me.
