Eretz Yisroel is acquired through suffering and difficulties. This week, the reality of this concept was hammered brutally into our hearts with the tragic loss of Ezra Schwartz and several other innocent victims of terror in Israel. As mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters, we can only imagine with horror and grief the suffering that such a loss would cause the families of the victims. But the Torah's response to senseless acts of hatred and violence is increased fulfillment of mitzvot between man and his fellow man, as well as an increased commitment to serving G-d. Ezra went to Israel to learn Torah and grow as a Jew. He went to Israel out of love for our shared homeland and was on his way to do a great mitzvah when he was taken from us. His very name meant "help." All who knew him loved him because he was kind and willing to help those in need and help make the world a better place. Let's memorialize Ezra by contributing to the active maintenance and improvement of Eretz Yisroel and its citizens. In doing so, we will raise Ezra's neshama to the highest heights of Heaven.

Please help me support Jewish National Fund by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will help the memory of my loved one live on and help to support the land and people of Israel. The donations and Tzedakah I raise for my loved one are so meaningful to me.
