In honor of my Bat Mitzvah, I am running a campaign to raise $5,000 for the Equine Therapy Program at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, a one-of-a-kind rehabilitation village in Israel’s south that empowers children and young adults with severe disabilities and pioneers cutting edge therapeutic and recovery services for anyone touched by disability.
With the support of Jewish National Fund-USA, ADI Negev's Equine Therapy Program utilizes expertly trained horses to promote positive mental health and individualized growth and development. By feeding, grooming and playing with the horses, the ADI residents and special education students with severe disabilities learn empathy, cooperation, and the importance of maintaining personal space, and begin to understand other important social interaction concepts. Additionally, interaction with the horses helps to improve motor abilities and cognitive function, including order and organization, spatial orientation, and the performance of complex tasks. ADI Negev also employs therapeutic horseback riding to help wheelchair users take an exciting first step towards independent mobility and allow those suffering from post-trauma to calm aggression, regain control and experience much needed emotional release.
With your help, I want to make sure that ADI Negev and JNF-USA can provide Equine Therapy for all of the Negev residents who need it so desperately.
Thank you!
