I am excited to be participating in the Dream Israel Teen Initiative and raising funds for important projects in Israel. Jewish National Fund is supporting Israel and Israelis in a number of different ways. All the money donated to this fundraiser will be going towards support for the Sderot Indoor Recreation Center. This center will provide a place of safety for children living on Israel's border with the Gaza Strip. The Strip has been under fire for more than ten years and the families living there never know when the next rocket attack will occur. This center has been able to bring a sense of normalcy to the children living there as the center has a rock-climbing wall, soccer field. computer labs, dance studio, and more. Most importantly, the center has been retrofitted with 300 tons of steel so the children can be safe. If I meet my fundraising goal, JNF will provide me with a grant towards my own Israel travel experience, ensuring my opportunity to meet Israelis whose lives have been changed due to our support, and to explore my own connection to the land and people of Israel.
