I am excited to be participating in the Dream Israel Teen Initiative and raising funds for The Arava Institute in Israel (AIES) through the Jewish National Fund. The Institute has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, and its Executive Director won the 2024 AAAS David & Betty Hamburg Award for Science Diplomacy for using science to build relationships across the Middle East. AIES's Center for Sustainable Agriculture successfully sprouted a 2,000-year-old date palm seed (nicknamed "Methuselah") as part of its arid land agricultural/molecular research! And AIES set up Israel's first solar-powered classroom in an off-grid Bedouin village in the Negev. AIES educates a diverse international cohort of students who return to their home countries having built deep relationships with Israelis in the State of Israel.
