Dear Family & Friends,
I am very thankful and happy to announce that I have been given the opportunity to raise money for The Jewish National Fund. This wonderful organization is supporting Israel and Israelis in a number of different ways. I specifically, will be raising money and awareness for the inclusion for Israel’s special needs population. This program helps to insure that no Israeli, not matter their ability is left behind! JNF forwards donations towards special education, medical care, and state-of-the-art rehabilitative services. JNF is also ensuring that recreational facilities are inclusive for visitors of all ability levels.
Out of the multiple donation programs I was given to choose from, the inclusion for Israel’s special needs population really stuck out to me. Throughout my life I always try to be inclusive. No one shall ever feel or be left out, especially those who are set aside for being "different". I am very passionate about this topic, because I have witnessed this first hand. My older brother has Asperger Syndrome and has faced many challenges to get where he is today. When I was little it was difficult to watch him become so frustrated with things I didn't understand. I always wanted to help him, but I couldn't always do so. I have also witnessed situations like these with my Poppop who unfortunately passed away from ALS(Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), who was wheelchair bound and paralyzed. Seeing his progression until not being able to do anything on his own, has impacted me for a lifetime. So now that I'm older and understand more, I'm more aware of situations like these and want to help others in need.
In April through June of 2022 I will hopefully be attending Alexander Muss High School In Israel. In those two months I will study and get to experience and travel all around Israel, learning about its history and my heritage! I am beyond excited and am very hopeful for this chance to learn more about myself and my homeland.
