October 7th - another horrific day for the Jewish people; monstrous acts of rape and murder, destruction of communities and families, and destruction of the sense of safety Israelis all over Israel had before October 7th. Immediately thereafter was the beginning of a prolonged war that has sparked attacks on Israel from countries and terrorist groups around the Middle East – from all directions. Over 100 hostages (including the Bibas babies/children) are still being held captive in tunnels for over a year.
I want to make a difference in the life of children whose lives have been turned upside down and have been terrorized since October 7th. To do that, my goal is to raise $5,000 to expand and improve the Jewish National Fund's (JNF) Sderot Indoor Recreation Center in Sderot, Israel (which is one of the Gaza border communities). The JNF indoor playground is fortified for protection against rocket attacks. Since 2005, Sderot has endured TENS OF THOUSANDS of rockets launched from Gaza.
My brother Jordan and I are holding a community bake sale to raise money towards my goal called "Bake Against Hate", which will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The event will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the location of Congregation BJBE @ 1201 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, Illinois.
And to make this effort even more meaningful, when I study next Semester of my Sophomore year (January - May 2025) at JNF's Alexander Muss High School in Israel -, I will travel to Sderot to see the fruits of all the money we raise together for the Sderot Indoor Recreation Center.
Donations to the JNF are tax-deductible.
