I am excited to be participating in the Dream Israel Teen Initiative and raising funds for important projects in Israel. The money that I am raising will go towards funding and support for the Sderot Indoor Recreation Center. The families of the border town of Sderot are often the victims of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip and must always be within seconds of a bomb shelter. To provide a level of normalcy for the children of Sderot, the provides a rock- climbing wall, soccer field, playground, computer labs, dance studio and more, while being retrofitted with 300 tons of steel so children can be safe in play areas that double as bomb shelters. Allowing for children to play without fear and providing them with a level of normalcy during trying times.

If I meet my fundraising goal, the Jewish National Fund will provide me with a grant towards my own Israel travel experience, a semester of High School in Israel, ensuring my opportunity to visit the recreation center and meet Israelis whose lives have been changed due to our support, and to explore my own connection to the land and people of Israel.
