I am excited to be participating in the Dream Israel Teen Initiative and raising funds for important projects in Israel. Jewish National Fund is supporting Israel and Israelis in a number of different ways. The project that I'm fundraising for is the Sderot Indoor Recreation Center. It's an underground center for kids in the area to play, learn, and hang out. Sderot is very close to the Gaza border, and, as a result, the city is frequently at risk of destruction. That's why the recreation center is underground; that way kids can have both a safe place to play, as well as a shelter.

The Sderot Indoor Recreation Center is an amazing project. Getting to play and learn together is a fundamental part of childhood, and no kid should have to grow up without those experiences. This recreation center helps ensure that children in Sderot get to have fun, learn, and stay safe, all at the same time.

If I meet my fundraising goal, JNF will provide me with a grant of $7,500 towards Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim, a high-school study abroad experience lasting an entire semester, which I will be participating in next year. The program helps Jewish teens to not only visit Israel, but also learn about the history, culture, and country itself. I also plan on visiting the Sderot Indoor Recreation Center, and posting pictures and videos of it, so that you can see where your donations are going as well.
