Fire & Rescue / First Responders New York City and Friends

Tri-State Region

The courageous men and women who fight fires in Israel day in and day out are unsung heroes. Currently, 2,000 professional fire fighters protect the population of 7.5 million. They are the first responders to many emergencies, including bombings, rocket attacks, car accidents, forest fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials fires. Over the years, Jewish National Fund-USA has been the primary partner to the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority, outfitting the fire fighters with state-of-the-art equipment, vehicles, and facilities.

With the proliferation of long-range rockets in both Gaza and southern Lebanon, and the emerging threats from Iran and Syria, the need for a robust fire service is greater than ever. The Fire Department is doing amazing things but are very much in need of small highly mobile fire-rescue trucks which cost $50,000 per.
