Dear Friends and Family,
As some of you know, for many years I have been a member of the “Rebuild the Envelope” Task Force of the Jewish National Fund (JNF). A few years ago I sponsored the building and installation of two bomb shelters in the Gaza Envelope area of southern Israel.
Last week I received the terrible news that two young Israeli men, Ron Shamer and Dan Ariel, had been murdered at my bomb shelter. They were at the Nova Music Festival when the rocket barrage and invasion from Gaza began. They made it to my bomb shelter but were then encountered by the terrorists, who murdered them both.
In order to honor the memory of Ron and Dan, and to secure the safety of Israelis, I decided to launch a fundraiser for my “Rebuild the Envelope” Task Force of the Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF).
As I have written to most of you before, JNF-USA has been around for over 100 years. In the early years it made settlement possible by building water infrastructure, including a system of national reservoirs. The independent Charity Navigator organization has given JNF-USA its highest rating for transparency and efficiency.
At the bottom of this letter I have included a link to the Dan Ariel and Ron Shamer Donation Page. You can choose to donate anonymously or to identify your donation with your name.
WILL YOU HELP BY DONATING?
JNF-USA is an IRS-approved 501(c3) charity. If you itemize on your federal tax return, your donation is eligible for a tax deduction. If you would like to donate to JNF outside of my fundraiser, you can contribute on-line at jnf.org.
