Plotkin Family Foundation
Friends:
Please help us support Jewish National Fund-USA by making a contribution to a community that is dear to our hearts. Every dollar we raise will advance Jewish National Fund's mission to rebuild and strengthen the land and people of Israel!
On our recent family trip over Passover to Shlomit, a community right by the Egypt Gaza border, we saw firsthand how resilient this community is and their incredible commitment to Zionism and the land of Israel.
Despite the hardships of being a border community with Egypt and Gaza, almost daily rockets, receiving no assistance from the government, suffering losses on Oct 7, and consistent Bedouin drug smuggling they have to battle - they still persevere and shine as examples of pioneers of Israel.
Dana, a mother of 6 whose hero husband was killed on Oct 7 defending a nearby yeshuv told us, “It wasn’t easy to move back to our community. But I knew if I did, then others would too. Now it is time for Am Israel to unite.”
Michael, who was also injured on Oct 7 defending the same nearby yeshuv, is currently making delicious food packages for the soldiers at Rafah.
In Shlomit, we saw the unwavering hope and support that the residents give to Israel and to others - let’s show them the same support!
Please join us in helping to rebuild and strengthen this incredible community. Together, we can make a difference!
The community of Shlomit consists of 81 families totaling 500 residents. On October 7, the community lost 4 heroes and 4 wounded, who selflessly fought terrorists and saved a
neighboring community. They left 4 widows and 15 orphans. Over 70% of the community is made up of children, who suffer from emotional stress and PTSD.
This situation led to the creation of a community resilience plan, together with the support of Jewish National Fund-USA, dedicated to addressing psychological and practical challenges, as they stand united in their pursuit of rebuilding and recovery and continuing to protect Israel.
YOUR SUPPORT WILL GO TOWARD:
-Family and group therapy sessions
-Bereaved and injured families therapy
-Programs to support women in the community whose husbands are on reserve duty and emotional support events
-Children's therapy including animal, art, and music therapy sessions and equipment.
-Sports therapy/New Sports Complex
-Training for support personnel
-Youth activities and workshops
-Building of the new Shlomit Shul in memory of the 4 heroes
JNF-USA is a national top rated 501c3 charity for it's fiscal responsibility and transparency. Your support can be designated to any of these needs to help the Shlomit community.
