The Lauder Employment Center South in Be'er Sheva was established in 2015 in an attempt to improve employment prospects for young adults who wanted to build their lives in the Negev after finishing their studies. I'm so happy to report that after five years of work, the LEC South is thriving and has made a significant impact on the employment world in Israel's Negev.
This November, in spite of the corona virus pandemic, and really, because of it, we decided that it was time to replicate the success of the LEC South in the Galilee. On November 15, 2020, with lots of excitement, we officially opened the doors of the LEC North in Akko. We have hired a director for the LEC North - Einat Katz Sharony - and I am confident in her abilities to begin bringing Galilee employers, academic colleges, and job-seekers together to strengthen employment in the North.
This is just the beginning. We are beginning to build critical connections with stakeholders in the Galilee. We aim to, during 2021, lay the groundwork for our LEC Internship Program and both the Human Resource Professionals' Forum and the Employment Agencies' Forum. We've got a lot of work ahead of us, but we are confident that with help from people like you, we'll be able to make these dreams into a reality.
Consider supporting the important work of the LEC North in Akko!
