Anita Lewy
ANITA LEWY was born on September 21, 1921, and died unexpectedly on October 5, 2023.
Anita served in the British Army and was devoted to the Royal Family. Anita became an American citizen to exercise her right to vote. She was a proud British/American. Anita was also a long-time member of Temple Beth Shalom and a Chairperson of the Chesed Committee. Anita was a chaplain at UMC, Desert Springs and Spring Valley Hospitals. Anita also worked closely with Chabad visiting Jewish inmates.
At the age of 102, Anita was both physically and mentally healthy. She lived alone but managed well. Anita did not drive, but thanks to Antoinette, Sheila and others at the RTC, Anita was able to set up rides. Additionally, Alicia, Anna, Melissa, and Linda at Spring Valley Highlands always made sure Anita’s concerns at home were handled promptly. Throughout the years, Anita also benefitted from numerous wonderful friends and neighbors who made her life complete. There are too many to mention but a special thanks to Angie, Antoinette, Betty, Connie, Daniel, Dorothy, Fay, George, Jojo, Julie, Kenny, Louie, Manny, Maria, Mike, Nanette, Patricia, Rebeca, Richard, Sandra, Sandy and Sue. Also, thanks to David at Trader Joe’s. Nothing made Anita happier than to get her hair and nails done, and then mossy on to Trader Joe’s for a little shopping. We will miss her very much.
Anita did not want a service and asked for donations to the charity of one’s choice in lieu of flowers. She also loved giving trees to Israel and if you are interested in donating a tree in Anita’s memory, you donate at my.jnf.org/memorial/AnitaLewy
