Located about an hour south of Be’er Sheva, Mitzpe Ramon is an expansive, captivating, and multi-cultural community, and one of the most remote in the Negev Desert. Mitzpe Ramon is home to the naturally beautiful Ramon Crater, or Maktesh, which brings a sense of calm to those looking for a quieter, slower life than in the big urban centers. With geographic isolation comes challenges though: limited medical services, fewer job opportunities, a dearth of housing, and substandard quality of life stand in the way of growth. Jewish National Fund is helping to turn Mitzpe Ramon’s isolation and diversity into its greatest strength and opportunity for growth.
