I have been privileged to work as an educator at the Alexander Muss High school in Israel for 16 years. It has been an incredible journey. I have had the joy and challenge of connecting with and teaching many hundreds of young students, and to share with them my pride in our Jewish heritage and my passionate love for Eretz Yisrael and the State of Israel.
Now, for the first time in our 48-year history, the corona pandemic has forced us to send students home, to cancel programs and to close our campus. It has plunged the school into a serious financial situation. I and my colleagues are committed and eager to get back to what we love - teaching. We are hoping for the end of the crisis and eagerly waiting to welcome more students as soon as that becomes possible. But the school is in urgent needs of assistance from our alumni, parents and friends to help us weather this difficult time. Our parent organization, the J.N.F. has promised to match every dollar that we raise.
I am appealing to you for the assistance that will ensure the continued functioning of the school, so that we will be able to resume our mission of building enhanced Jewish identity and love of Israel.
