Pitching for Heritage: Help Arya Get to Italy with Team Israel!
Arya: Heart, Hustle, Teammate
Arya is 13 years old and a young woman who has turned passion into purpose—one pitch and one game at a time. For the last six years, Arya has poured herself into softball, evolving into a top-ranked pitcher in the 12U division. Her hard work earned her recognition and appearances representing her team at USA nationals in Oregon making it to the championship, numerous tournament championships in USSSA, TCF, Alliance and C4 organizations and a pitcher in the Premier category of PGF — honors that reflects not just her talent in the circle, but her character off the field.
The Opportunity of a Lifetime
This summer, Arya has been selected to represent Team Israel at the 2026 Softball European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy Championship (EMRYT) in Italy.
Being chosen for this elite international team is an extraordinary achievement. Team Israel brings together talented athletes who share a connection to Israeli heritage, competing on a world stage with skill, pride, and sportsmanship. Arya is honored and excited to be among them.
A Dedication Close to Our Hearts
This journey has deep personal meaning for our family. Arya will take the field in Italy in honor her Papah, Steven Sugarman, a grandfather who loved to play and shared his love of baseball and softball with his family. Arya’s great grandparents Michelle and Philip Sugarman are also the roots that ground her.
Why We’re Fundraising
Representing a national team comes with significant costs. We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help Arya cover:
• ✈️ International travel to Italy
• 🥎 Team Israel uniform and specialized gear
• 🏋️ Training and practice expenses leading up to the tournament
More Than a Game
When Arya takes the mound in Italy this summer, she won’t just be pitching for herself—she’ll be playing for her family, her heritage, and the memory of her Papah.
We are so grateful for the love and generosity of our family and friends. Whether you can contribute $10 or $500, every gift brings Arya one step closer to the field in Italy.
Thank you for believing in Arya!
However, we need your help! Your generous contribution will help advance Jewish National Fund-USA's support for Team Israel as we pursue our dream of competing in the Olympics.
Please also share this with your family and friends. Together, we can make a difference!
